6.8GW! MC Wins Another Large Order for Saudi PIF6 National PV Meteorological Stations, Leading the Middle East Continuously

Recently, MC New Energy has successively won two core bids in the Saudi PIF6 photovoltaic super project, partnering with PowerChina and Energy China respectively to provide a full set of PV meteorological monitoring systems for the 6.8GW total installed capacity PIF6 giant power station cluster invested and developed by ACWA Power, a world-renowned energy developer. Following its successful participation in the Saudi PIF4 project, this marks another milestone breakthrough for MC in the Middle East market, further consolidating MC’s international position as a leader in extreme environment meteorological monitoring.

I. Bid Details: Partnering with Two Major Central Enterprises to Consolidate Cooperation Foundation

This winning bid covers three core sections of the PIF6 project, all with ACWA Power as the owner. Relying on its strong product strength and rich overseas project experience, MC New Energy has become the main supplier of meteorological monitoring equipment in this round of PV super projects.

Partnering with PowerChina to Secure 4.8GW Core Section

MC New Energy has officially received the bid-winning notice from PowerChina, and will provide high-precision PV meteorological stations for the two sub-projects AFIF1 (2.4GW) and AFIF2 (2.4GW) of the Saudi PIF6 project invested by ACWA Power. Located in the central desert of Saudi Arabia, the AFIF cluster is the largest continuous construction block in the PIF6 plan. MC meteorological stations will undertake all environmental monitoring tasks in this area, covering key parameters such as total solar radiation, reflected radiation, wind speed and direction, temperature and humidity, air pressure and rainfall, providing real-time and accurate data support for power generation prediction and intelligent operation and maintenance of the power station to ensure efficient and stable operation.

Partnering with Energy China to Win 2GW Project Order

In the same period, MC New Energy has successfully won the supply contract for meteorological stations of the PIF6 Al-Fursan 2GW PV project undertaken by Energy China, also with ACWA Power as the owner. Located in western Saudi Arabia, the Al-Fursan project features more complex climatic conditions, posing extremely high requirements for equipment’s high temperature resistance, sand dust resistance and long-term stability. Thanks to its excellent performance in the previous Saudi PIF4 Al-Fursan 2GW project—continuous trouble-free operation of equipment with data accuracy exceeding 99%—MC has once again gained high recognition and repeat purchase trust from Energy China and the owner ACWA Power.

II. Project Background: Saudi PIF6—World’s Top PV Cluster with Severe Extreme Environment Challenges

Saudi PIF6 (Public Investment Fund 6) is a national-level renewable energy plan under the framework of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030”, with ACWA Power as the core investor and developer. It aims to build a world-leading photovoltaic power generation cluster to support Saudi Arabia’s energy transition and promote the global carbon neutrality goal.
