MC New Energy deployed 32 Class A PV weather stations for the Philippines Terra 1.4GWp solar and 3.3GWh BESS project, providing accurate weather monitoring and on-site technical support.

The Terra Solar Phase 1 West Project in the Philippines, featuring 1.4GWp of solar capacity and 3.3GWh of battery energy storage, is progressing rapidly as one of Southeast Asia's largest integrated solar and energy storage developments.

To support the project's high requirements for environmental monitoring and operational reliability, 32 MC New Energy PV Weather Stations have been successfully commissioned and are now operating continuously, providing accurate real-time meteorological data for efficient solar plant management.

Delivering Accurate Weather Data for Utility-Scale Solar Plants

Designed specifically for utility-scale photovoltaic projects, the MC New Energy Solar Weather Monitoring System continuously measures key environmental parameters, including:

Solar irradiance

Wind speed and wind direction

Ambient temperature

Relative humidity

Atmospheric pressure

These critical weather data support PV performance evaluation, energy yield analysis, and battery energy storage dispatch optimization, helping maximize overall plant efficiency.

The system is built around a Class A pyranometer with ±2% solar irradiance measurement accuracy, ensuring highly stable and reliable performance. The complete weather station complies with ISO 9060, IEC 61724, and WMO standards, and is certified to CE and EMC requirements.

Engineered for harsh outdoor environments, the weather stations operate reliably under the Philippines' high-temperature, high-humidity, and coastal conditions while maintaining stable data acquisition around the clock.

On-Site Technical Support Ensures Long-Term Reliability

Following system commissioning, MC New Energy's technical engineers traveled to the project site to provide comprehensive commissioning inspection and operation & maintenance (O&M) support.

The on-site service included:

Installation quality verification

Sensor and communication system inspection

Grounding and cable connection checks

Weather data accuracy validation through instrument comparison

System performance diagnostics

In addition, the engineering team conducted practical training sessions for the local O&M personnel, covering routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and independent system operation to ensure long-term stable performance.
